Kobelco exhibits first Indian-made 20-ton-class excavator at bC India exhibition


Kobelco Construction machinery Co., Ltd. exhibited the first 20-ton-class excavator manufactured at its new plant in India at the bC India exhibition in Mumbai. bC India runs four days from 8-11 February 2011.

In addition to the 20-ton-class SK210LC, Kobelco is exhibiting the 14-ton-class SK140LC and the 85-ton-class SK850LC. Kobelco began marketing the SK850LC in India last year. At the trade fair, visitors are able to see Kobelco’s wide range of excavators.

Kobelco constructed a new excavator plant in Andhra Pradesh state and start-up operations began at the end of last year. With the rise in economic development in recent years and the increase in infrastructure construction, demand for hydraulic excavators is anticipated to expand. Kobelco’s plant produces 20-ton-class excavators. Demand is highest for this variety of machine, which is also noted for its outstanding fuel consumption. By establishing a manufacturing presence in India, Kobelco is better positioned to quickly meet market needs.
