First Time in the History of the Korean Construction Machinery Industry! Acquisition of the Environmental Certification Mark!

Kobelco Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Shigeto Kotani) has announced through its South Korean Agent (Samjung Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.) that six of its hydraulic excavator models (SK17SR, SK20SR, SK30SR, SK55SR, SK70SR, and SK140SRLC), have cleared the low-noise standards set by the Korea Eco-Products Institue in October 2008. As a result, these excavators are permitted to bear the environmental certification mark.

Concerning Permission to Use the Environmental Certification Mark

(1) This is the first time in history of the Korean construction machinery industry that the environmental certification mark has been granted for use on hydraulic excavators.

(2) The environmental certification mark indicates a noise level of 94.5dB for products with an engine output of15kW and over, and 93dB for products with an engine output smaller than 15kW. In response to the heightened environmental needs of users, we are in the process of affixing the label to the machines in question.
